Portraiture is a complex art form. On its surface it presents a likeness of its subject. Embedded in these renderings are the relationship between myself and the subjects presented. My works are mementos and a means of self-expression of peoples I have met and places I have lived. I work with ink and paper manipulation. I intentionally render faces with a minimal amount of detail to keep memories as ethereal as possible.



I just experienced Ms. Sweo's amazing art at the Mesa Modern Art Museum.
ReplyDeleteThe use of seemingly endless numbers of paper dots, attention-grabbing use of molded fabric, and the absolutely stunning use of folded paper made for a totally engaging afternoon.
