Second piece of the New Year! This piece was started and completed in February of 2022. Experimenting and pushing the idea of painting with paper past pointillism and into an expressive "brush stroke."

Portraiture is a complex art form. On its surface it presents a likeness of its subject. Embedded in these renderings are the relationship between myself and the subjects presented. My works are mementos and a means of self-expression of peoples I have met and places I have lived. I work with ink and paper manipulation. I intentionally render faces with a minimal amount of detail to keep memories as ethereal as possible.
