A View From Lake Teapo
I lived in New Zealand for 4 years while studying for my Ph.D. in Design. When I needed a little break from my studies, my husband and I would go camping and hiking by Lake Teapo.

Portraiture is a complex art form. On its surface it presents a likeness of its subject. Embedded in these renderings are the relationship between myself and the subjects presented. My works are mementos and a means of self-expression of peoples I have met and places I have lived. I work with ink and paper manipulation. I intentionally render faces with a minimal amount of detail to keep memories as ethereal as possible.
This piece is on view this month at the local art gallery in Gaffney, South Carolina, Cava as a part of the Earth Day Birthday Exhibition.
