Portraiture is a complex art form. On its surface it presents a likeness of its subject. Embedded in these renderings are the relationship between myself and the subjects presented. My works are mementos and a means of self-expression of peoples I have met and places I have lived. I work with ink and paper manipulation. I intentionally render faces with a minimal amount of detail to keep memories as ethereal as possible.
There are periods of art that fascinate me. The way subject matter would be stylistically positioned and rendered. I am finding the choice of a given style interesting to work with given the media of pen and paper.
